New World vs Old World:  Which Countries are Which?
Price: No Price

The earliest confirmed discovery of the existence of wine was a cache of six nine-liter jars found in the floor of a mud brick building from 5400-5000 B.C., in Hajji Firuz Tepe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran.  From that point in time approximately 7000 years ago up until about the 1700’s AD, wine existed only in the “Old World.”  Starting in the 1700’s, explorers and settlers propagated the grape vines all over the globe in regions and countries known to be “New World” wines.  This class will explain further as you taste examples from both categories.
