Pinot Noir: A Very Fickle Red Grape! McLaughlin Vineyard, Sandy Hook
It's been a few years since its release, but the movie "Sideways" gave an enormous jolt to the sale of Pinot Noir wines.  It was the favorite grape of protagonist, Miles, and there were a couple of scenes in the movie where he described his love for it, and how it was one of the most difficult grapes in the world to grow and vinify (a metaphor of his own personality!)

In this class we will focus on Pinot Noir, and our goal will be to learn more about how varied its aroma and flavor profiles can be as we taste wines made by different winemakers around the world.  This class has the added dimension of being blind, i.e., we will taste the wines randomly "in brown bags" in order to eliminate any preconceptions about price, winery, or country.  As usual, a fine selection of snacks and finger foods will be served.
