If you have some experience tasting wines, this will be a fun and educational class to test your skills. 2 wines each made from the 8 basic grapes will be tasted over the course of the two class sessions: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris/Grigio, and Riesling for the whites, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Syrah for the reds. They will be tasted blind, i.e., you won't know which wines you are tasting, and the challenge is to determine the grape type in each wine. Wine professionals thrive on blind tastings because it forces you to concentrate on each wine's characteristics and allows you to learn even more about them. Oh, but please don't feel intimidated... even the professionals do not get a high percentage of correct answers, no matter what they may tell you! WEEK TWO OF TWO
